IML ROBOT
What is IML Technology?
IML is an abbreviation for “In-Mold Labelling”. In this process, labels that are pre-printed on a special PP-based material and cut according to the shape of the product are placed into the mold using a high-precision robotic arm. Molten polypropylene (PP) injected into the mold bonds with the label at a molecular level, resulting in a finished product with high-quality decoration fully integrated into the structure.
System Working Principle
Static Loading: Labels are electrostatically charged using a robotic arm and a specially designed holder (mandrel/Dummy), then positioned inside the mold so that they adhere to the cavity surface (female cavity) that forms the outer surface of the product.
Flexibility: The label design can be easily modified or updated during the production process.
Multifunctionality: Depending on the capacity of the injection molding machine, products with similar volumes can be manufactured using the same machine and robotic system-only the Dummy needs to be changed, without replacing the entire system.
